EDUCATION

​Generally, priests in the making would receive an education because of their high position in the social hierarchy, and because of the fact they were specifically chosen by the Pharaohs who would not usually pick the uneducated to protect the gods. Usually, boys would start school at the age of 4 to learn how to read, write and solve basic mathematical problems. As the child grew up they would also learn science, music, history and geography. It was essential priests were educated in the area of religious education because that would impact the Pharaoh’s decision about if the child was to become a priest or not.
